Audition Information

For those auditioning, you will be provided with your audition material.  Each auditioner will sing one or two short excerpts from the show. Your audition should be memorized.  We expect as much character as you can provide in your audition.  You must bring 100% to your audition.  Reference Recordings are for reference only.  They may not be in the same key, tempo or have the same lyrics.  Please refer to the Sheet Music for actual lyrics, notes, etc.

Each audition will last an hour.  You will first sing your audition pieces and then your group will dance the audition dance (which will be taught at the audition).  Dress accordingly.  You will be able to change if needed.

ACTUAL AUDITION MATERIAL WILL BE EMAILED TO YOU ONCE YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY REGISTERED FOR YOUR AUDITION.

Company Information

The company size for this show is unknown at this time. The decision will be difficult and we hope that everyone respects our choices. It will be expected that no one creates any drama or troubles based on the casting and crew assignments. We are looking for a certain mix of cast chemistry and this might result in a atypical cast list.

Rehearsals will be Monday through Friday. Rehearsals will typically (and is subject to change) be Monday through Friday from 4-7 pm.  Some rehearsals may be 6-9 pm.  There will be occasional weekend rehearsals, rehearsals on non-school days and set build days.

The rehearsal schedule will be released a few weeks in advance to allow for planning. Scheduled rehearsals are mandatory and all rehearsals beginning October 22nd are REQUIRED for all cast and crew. If you cannot be at ALL rehearsals these last weeks (beginning October 22, 2018), we suggest you do not audition/sign up for this show. Rehearsals begin and end as scheduled. Tech Week rehearsals will run late, so please plan ahead. We will do our best to work around conflicts provided during the audition process but ask that they are kept to a minimum. We do consider all conflicts when making casting decisions. There will be NO SCHEDULED REHEARSALS over EM BREAK.  Please use this time to schedule appointments, college visits or just catch up on your homework.  There will be rehearsals on Friday, October 5 and 26th (Non School Days) during the day.

We do take conflicts into consideration when casting, so please keep them to a minimum.

Strike is also required for ALL cast and crew (please don't plan any family events for the last performance day).  We will hold a potluck at the conclusion of strike.

We will be asking for help with show prep and the show's run; i.e. set construction (it's BIG!), costumes, concessions, ticket sellers, etc. More information will be released at the parent meeting (September 18th @ 6 pm).

The main goal of Tartan Theatre is to produce quality theatre and give everyone a chance to perform and have FUN!!!!!
