Audition Information

For those auditioning, you will be provided with your audition material.  Each auditioner will sing two short excerpts from the show. Your audition should be memorized.  We expect as much character as you can provide in your audition.  You must bring 100% to your audition.  Reference Recordings are for reference only.  They may not be in the same key, tempo or have the same lyrics.  Please refer to the Sheet Music for actual lyrics, notes, etc.

Each audition will last an hour.  You will first sing your 2 audition pieces and then your group will dance the audition dance (which will be taught at the audition).  Dress accordingly.  You will be able to change if needed.

ACTUAL AUDITION MATERIAL WILL BE EMAILED TO YOU ONCE YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY REGISTERED FOR YOUR AUDITION.

Company Information

The company size for this show is unknown at this time. We are looking for a certain mix of cast chemistry and this might result in an atypical cast list.  We will be casting roles for those entering 5th Grade through the College Graduates (Class of 2018), you may not turn 22 prior to the closing performance.  All those over the age of 21 will be required to submit to a background check.

Strike is also required for ALL cast and crew (please don't plan any family events for the last performance day).  We will hold a potluck at the conclusion of strike.

We will be asking for help with show prep and the show's run; i.e. set construction (it's BIG!), costumes, concessions, ticket sellers, etc. More information will be released at the parent meeting (date on the calendar).

The main goal of Tartan Theatre is to produce quality theatre and give everyone a chance to perform and have FUN!!!!!

Camp Details

Camp Dates: June 11-29

All rehearsal dates and times can be found on the rehearsal calendar below.  Excluding Week #3 of camp, camp rehearsal times are Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.  Week #3 times will vary to accommodate our pit orchestra.   We ask that nothing be scheduled during the rehearsal time listed but we will allow conflicts if absolutely necessary.

All cast members will participate in building the sets when not participting in vocal, dance or blocking rehearsals.

As part of the camp experience, we will have guest artist leading workshops during camp.  We are currently working on specifics, but workshops could include how to audition, dance, act a song, tech olympics, stage craft, etc.

The roles of Mary Poppins, Bert and Miss Andrews as well as the Flight Team will have mandatory rehearsals/install over the June 15/22 weekend.  All rehearsals as scheduled are required.  Exact dates and times are TBD based on installation schedule for our show.

Most cast members will be required to provide their own black tap shoes.  Fittings will be available at the tap clinic rehearsals with shoes available to purchase on site.  We will sell them to all performers at cost.  If you already have black ones, you are welcome to use them.
